The definitive reference for all Indian GST state and union territory codes.
What is a GST State Code?
In India, every Goods and Services Tax Identification Number (GSTIN) is a 15-digit alphanumeric code. The very first two digits of this GSTIN represent the GST State Code. Knowing the correct state code is essential for verifying a GSTIN and generating correct invoices, especially when determining whether to charge IGST (inter-state) or CGST/SGST (intra-state).
